In
mid-April about 25 Roots & Shoots college
members gathered at the Clearpool Education Center
in Carmel, New York for the National College Summit.
Participants came from as far as Austin, Texas
to attend this exciting event, where members connected
with one another and shared ideas for the future.
四月中，約有25名根與芽大專會員齊聚一堂於紐約Carmel的Clearpool教育中心參加全國大專高峰會，參加者來自各地，共同參與這振奮人心的大會，會員之間緊密的結合，並一同分享對未來的展望。 |

With the
recent rebirth of the Roots & Shoots College Leadership
Council, this gathering was just the thing to get college
members connected and working together.
配合最近才重新開始的「大專生領導階層委員會」，這次將會員們聚集在一起，是要讓大專會員們相互聯誼與一起工作。
The summit
offered helpful workshops on humane education and sustainable
landscaping, an informative nature hike around Lake
Clearpool and an exciting demonstration with birds of
prey.
這次高峰會提供了幾場有關人道教育及永續景觀美化的工作坊、具有教育性質的Clearpool湖邊健行活動以及令人興奮的猛禽介紹。
Former member
of Western Connecticut State University Roots &
Shoots, Lindsey Goodwick, shared the details of how
her experiences with Roots & Shoots helped her land
a job with Chesapeake Bay Audubon Society. Lindsey works
with kids to help them feel connected to their food
and its sources, and she led summit participants through
one of her favorite educational activities—ice cream
making!
前西康乃迪克州立大學根與芽會員Lindsey Goodwick和大家分享了在她個人經驗中，她如何與Chesapeake
Bay Audubon協會合作，讓根與芽活動幫助了她週遭的環境。Lindsey平時在教導孩童們認識食物與他們之間的關係以及它們的來源，而在會中，她還教所有的參加者她個人最愛的教育課程－冰淇淋製作。
In the evenings,
summit attendees gathered around the fireplace in the
meeting hall to sing songs and share Roots & Shoots
memories.
晚間，高峰會的參與人員全部圍著會議廳的火爐，一起唱唱歌與分享根與芽的回憶。
The weekend
of connecting and sharing was cut short by an early
spring "nor'easter" storm but everyone left
with ideas for the coming year.
週末的聯誼與分享最後雖然是在提前到來的暴風雨給被迫結束了，但是每位參加者都帶著對未來一年的新計畫離去。
As the storm
clears and the spring plants blossom, Roots & Shoots
at the college level is blossoming too!
當暴風雨遠離，春天的花兒綻放的同時，大專根與芽也正蓬勃的發展中~
