Recycle Fishing Line ¦^¦¬³¨³½½u
Start up a monofilament recovery and recycling program
in your area. Plan a fishing line recycling bin installation
day at local marinas and state parks to assemble and
install recycling bins for monofilament fishing line.
Once you've collected enough fishing lines, ship them
off to Pure Fishing America to be melted down and turned
into other plastic products, like tackle boxes, spools
and toys.

Test the Groundwater ´ú¸Õ¦a¤U¤ô
If you are one of the 42 million people in the United
States whose water supply comes from a well, this project
is for you. Unsure of your water supply source? Ask
a parent. Set up a well water test to analyze your well
water for contaminants and learn about the basics of
drinking water. Offer to test neighbors' wells also!
Your state water certification office can test your
water samples and is also a great resource for more
information.

Forward Farm Safety ±À¼s¹A¦a¦w¥þ
Want to find out how safe your farm is? First, conduct
your own preliminary safety survey. Then, you can get
in touch with your State Farm Bureau to organize a farm
safety inspection. A certified inspector will come out
to your property to ensure that everything is safe.
Afterward, talk with your inspector about simple, inexpensive
ways to get rid of danger spots. If you don't live on
a farm, you could offer your survey to a farming friend
or neighbor.

Survey a Cemetery ¶i¦æ¹Ó¶é½Õ¬d
Ready to do a little investigative research? Look no
further than your local cemetery! Organize a historical
or genealogical survey right near home. After recording
the location of the cemetery, document the inscriptions
on the headstones. Bring some cleanup supplies (such
as trash bags, rakes, brooms, gloves, etc.) to tidy
up the cemetery grounds, if permitted. Compile your
findings into a final report and offer them to your
local library and local historical society to help further
any ongoing genealogical research. Just think¡Xyou could
be helping to document local history in your community!

Plant a Tree ºØ´Ó¾ð¤ì
Trees and other vegetation do all kinds of good things,
including providing food for wildlife, beautifying a
community and preventing water pollution. So, find an
open space and Panda Miti, as they say in Tanzania.
Then, report your tree-planting action to participate
in the Roots & Shoots ReBirth the Earth: Trees for
Tomorrow youth campaign.

Create a Compost »s§@°ïªÎ
Plan a trip to a nearby composting demonstration site
or research composting at the library or online. Take
notes and then build a compost bin to provide an environmentally
sustainable option for disposing of organic material,
like food scraps and yard waste. Consider locating your
site in a central area so everyone has access to it.
See if local businesses will donate supplies or do a
fundraiser to collect money to buy any materials you
may need.
